Let's begin with the frame construction. Our process involves pre-drilling every frame and rail part. The frame is actually glued individually and screwed together, as they are assembled on our frame presses. This process was begun primarily because we use a lot of pine, and this has proved to be the strongest joint assembly for a soft wood. The wood would actually break before you would have joint failure. Because of our success with this process, we have elected to use it on all our lines.
All of our doors are manufactured in our own factory by our own mill. All our doors are made of solid wood. No veneers or pressed woods are used. Since we offer our products unfinished, we must use a premium grade in all our wood species.
Our cabinet finishing process is unique. Every drawer, frame and door front is machine sanded and then completely white sanded by hand in preparation for finishing.
These parts are then completely submerged in tanks of stain and hand wiped to determine color. This allows for each piece, or the overall color of the cabinet, never to have that "starved" look that is a common problem in stains that are applied by spraying.
The parts are then transferred into a spray room where they are sprayed individually with a sealer. After the sealer is completely dry, the parts go back to the sanding department where each piece is again completely sanded by hand. Once this process is complete, they go back to the spray room where a top coat of catalyzed varnish is applied.
These parts will remain in drying racks and will not be removed until the next day, when they will be taken to assembly for use that day.
This finishing process is normally found in factories that produce expensive furniture. This is a very expensive, labor intensive department, and we feel that our products excel in beauty at a fair market price.
Every order that is placed with Just Cabinets is built to order. Just Cabinets does not stockpile or warehouse any of its products. Everything is built for you and you alone.
